Our training courses will prepare you for the role of private investigator and will enable you to apply for SIA registration once this is enacted by the government in the next few months. These courses are priced separately but please see the package price for 3 courses, which offers a significant discount over the cost of the individual courses.
The SIA have indicated that this will be the standard qualification for registration as a Private Investigator. The Level 3 Award for Professional Investigators (QCF) focuses on:
The qualification also deals with maintaining the security and confidentiality of all information during the investigation. Throughout, there is also the requirement of knowing and complying with the laws and regulations relevant to carrying out investigations.
This qualification is based on the SIA Specification for Learning and Qualifications for Private Investigators and Pre-Cognition activities.
We can support you through this qualification in four different ways.
Option 1 - A 5 Day course covering all of the learning outcomes culminating in an externally set and marked examination.

Option 2 - Distance learning course enabling you to study at your own pace. Supported throughout by an experienced investigator to give advice and assess your work. Once complete there is a 1 day consolidation course booked at your convenience culminating in an externally set and marked examination.

Option 3 - For experienced investigators. This includes an interview to allow our assessor to accredit your prior experience. This is followed by a 1 day revision course where any gaps in your experience can be addressed followed by an externally set and marked examination.

Option 4 - For experienced investigators. This includes an interview to allow our assessor to accredit your prior experience followed by an externally set and marked examination without any further training.

This course is aimed at investigators who wish to gain an insight into covert surveillance planning, procedures and practice. Taken by experienced trainers with extensive police and / or military surveillance experience this course will cover static, foot and mobile surveillance tactics including assessing risk and log keeping. Lasting 4 days this course is run over 2 consecutive weekends and will include practical exercises.

A 1 day course for investigators who need to gather information and intelligence from the internet. This course shows how to interrogate open areas of the internet to discover information about individuals or companies. Subjects covered will include interrogating emails, internet sites, social media, blogs, telephone numbers addresses and company and business information.

Level 3 Award for Professional Investigators taken via the distance learning route (with 1 day course and exam) booked together with 4 day basic surveillance course and 1 day Open Source Intelligence Course.

5 day Level 3 Award for Professional Investigators with exam booked together with 4 day basic surveillance course and 1 day Open Source Intelligence Course.

These courses will be run from state of the art training facilities with excellent transport connections on the outskirts of Ipswich, Suffolk. Courses are non residential but there are 2 reasonably priced hotels within walking distance of the venue. Special rates may be negotiable so please ask if you are considering booking a room. There is ample free parking at the venue.
If your company is interested in running any of these courses at your own premises we may be able to offer a discount on delegate rates, subject to sufficient delegates registering.
In the case of the Level 3 Award for Professional Investigators you would need to allow access to a room that complies with examination rules and this would need to be pre-authorised.
Darwen was a centre for textile manufacture during the Industrial Revolution like towns in Lancashire. From 1878, the Darwen municipal borough existed for years. Renamed Blackburn with Darwen in 1997, before it became a unitary authority, of the Blackburn Lancashire district that is non-metropolitan, the town became part.

Operated by Northern, Darwen stands athwart Ribble Valley railway line. Formed in 1870 and the world's football club to have paid professional players, the town was the home of Darwen Football Club.

Formerly Elite School of Music, Darwen School of Music is Darwen has its music school on Blackburn Road.
Visit WebsiteDarwen Aldridge Enterprise Studio opened in September 2013 and, in the renovated Model Lodging House on Police Street, the school moved to its permanent home in 2014. The coat of arms used by the unitary authority of Blackburn with Darwen, which is the coat of arms for Blackburn, should not be confused with Darwen's. Whilst a build was completed on the original site, Darwen Vale High School was temporarily moved to the Moorland site.

At the High School of Darwen Moorland premises on the outskirts of the town, which had closed in July 2008 to reopen as the academy after the summer holidays, Darwen Aldridge Community Academy opened in September 2008. It forms with Darwen the Blackburn Borough - a unitary authority area, along with northerly neighbour, Blackburn.

Urns containing human ashes and a bronze dagger were artefacts found, and, at Darwen Library Theatre, on display are a number of these finds. As Darwen Etrurians CC playing at Barley Bank, Cricket Club of Darwen in the late 1800s was founded, as the town has a strong cricketing tradition.
